Merry Christmas

Once again Christmas time is here. This year has gone so extreemly fast, can`t believe it`s soon over. Have now been home more or less for seven months, but in a week time I`m off to my new University College. Hope it goes well and the next 1.5 year will go as fast as the first 1.5 yr did. I`m already half done with my studies.

My 15 wks study practice has taken most of my time this fall. Very interesting to see how the local CPS works. The study paper also took it`s time to write and I worked Saturdays in our local LYS/home-deco shop.

Diddn`t get much time for knitting and crocheting, but I`ve tried to do some when watching TV and when travelling. Will post some photos another day. Too tired now as it`s bed time here.

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season.

Secret Pal 14 - first packet

Today I received the first SP 14 packet. What a lovely surprise it was to get a box from Ravelry.com My pal had ordered me a T-shirt and a mug from them. I have so happy to receive it, as I never expected someone to order me something from Ravelry. The T-shirt fitted me perfectly. Will wear it at work tomorrow. Min nye hobby - hekling/my new hobby - crocheting

Have hardly done any crocheting since the 1970`s when I first learned it. When I saw those knitted slippers in the book Hekling i sommersol (crocheting in the summersun) by Olaug Kleppe, I just had to re-learn it. With a painful back I`ve been sitting on my sofa all week crocheting.

Yarn: Hubro Needle: 9 mm

Baktus sjal/shawl

I`d some Alize Lanagold yarn I bought in Arkhangelsk, Russia last year. For a long time I`ve been looking for a pattern to use them for and came over this Baktus pattern in a blog. This shawl can be found in many Norwegian blogs.

Another pair of felted mittens - Lovikka

Yarn: Cortina. Needles: 8mm.
You might think I don`t make anything else but felted mittens this summer? I actually make a few pair of socks as well. I just struggle to get a pair done, due to lack of time. I guess I`m hit by the second-sock syndrom. Hopefully can I post full pair of socks soon.

Sorry for late swap posting/updating

I must apologize for my late posting here about all those lovely swap packets I`ve got this spring/summer. My studies and exams + our youngest daughers Confirmation Day, June 1st, have taken all my time. My exams went very well and I can enjoy the summer doing lots of knitting. Have some projects on my needles right now. Looking forward showing them here when they are done.

I and hubby went to Lillehammer June 2nd, a 2000 kms drive, one way, for my last exam and bringing back my belongings from my study apartment. Had a lovely week in south. Drove through Finland and Sweden both ways. Last day I had an accident in Finland, falling through a gas station window. Don`t ask how it happened, have no better explanation than I was looking for hubby and didn`t see the small step in front of the gas station - hit the window with my head, window got broken. I must have had a guardian angel watching over me as the only cut I got was in left little finger, when protecting my face. I got a huge bump in my head, which still hurt, but it could have gone a lot worse. I was soooo lucky not getting a lot more hurt.

Now I`m enjoying the best summer job ever, in a company running the local LYS. :)
