I`ve joined this swap and is looking forward to knit a scarf for my partner in the USA.

Sock a month knit-along - July

This is my first contribution to this knit-along. I made them yesterday for a penpals little girl.

Hvilken lykke.../What a happiness...

...det var å komme hjem i går (nå er det vel blitt forleden dag) etter tre lange arbeidsdager, å finne ikke mindre enn fem pakker og et bursdagskort fra Danmark liggende å vente på meg. Jeg ble bare stående å stirre for jeg hadde forberedt meg på en dag uten post, etter selv å ha funnet postboksen tom. Ikke viste jeg at mannen hadde vært på posten før han dro på fisketur. Jeg var alene hjemme så ingen hørte mine gledes utbrudd etter hvert som all det deilige garnet og de andre godisene kom til syne. Det må ha vært min beste postdag på mange år. I 1992 fikk jeg 16 brevvenn brev på en dag., og det var også stor lykke.
...it was to come home after three long working days, to find not less than five packets and a birthday card from Denmark waiting for me. I was prepared for a day without mail as I`d found my mail-box empty. What I didn`t knew was my hubby already had been collecing the mail before he went fishing. He wanted to surprise me and I really was. I was stunned, but when all the yummi yarn and the other goodies revealed, I couldn`t stop myself from screaming from happiness. It was my best mail day in many years. In 1992 I got 16 penpal letters in one day, that was a happy day as well.

Magic ball birthday swap - Ravelry

When I opened the box from smittenkitten in the Magic ball swap at the Crabby Crafters group at Ravelry, I found this huge ball surounded by three different types of M&Ms and a lovely snow ball (is it the correct name for it?) with dolphins from San Diego, California.

I saw not one, but two thimbles poking out from the yarn and a birthday girl button.

Working me through the red cotton Butterfly yarn made in Greece I also found buttons, lovely fruit beads, wire for beads, handicrafts bond, cherry almond handmade soap, cute fruit erasers and Tootsie Roll (I`m chewing on in right now, yummi). To my big surprise I found another ball of cotton yarn (Peaches & Creme) when the red yarn was unwinded.

In that ball I found cute flower buttons, candy and Japanese tea.

Here you can see it all together. Thank you very much smittenkitten in California. This was my first magic ball swap, but not last. This was fun.

Swap on a Budget - Ravelry

I also got this packet from sueya in England. She was my secret pal partner in the swap on a budget at Ravelry. Lovely Cherry Tree Hill cotton yarn, which is first time I have. I love the colorway. I also had beautiful home-made stitch-markers (too bad they don`t show very well at the pohoto, but the blue stones are just gorgeous), my fave M&M chocolate, chocolate and teas. Thanks a lot. I love what you sent.

Irish organic sock yarn

Celticmemory, a fellow Raveler from Ireland who I met here in Norway last month, sent me those lovely skeins of Irish Organic sock yarn as a gift. She told me to check out an Icelandic shawl pattern at Ravelry, which I will. Maybe this yarn will be a lovely shawl, time will tell. Thanks a lot to you Celticmemory. I really apreciate it.

Lovikka garn/yarn

Child`s first socks in shell patterns - Vintage socks KAL

Mitt første bidrag til denne KALen. Gnaske lette sokker å strikke og fine ble de selv om bildet ikke er helt bra. My first pair of socks in this KAL. Made them for myself. Easy to knit. Unfortunately photo didn`t turn out too good.

Sokker på pinnene/socks on needles

Child first sock in shell pattern. I`ve started second sock as well, but found this Handsome Devil Sock pattern yesterday in SixSockKnitalong and decided to start knitting them as well. Yarn: Silja. Needles: 3.0 mm.

Sea Mineral Mittens

Fant dette nydelige mønsteret på Ravelry og måtte bare strikke de. Brukte andre fargekombinasjoner enn på originalen da utvalget i garnbutikken ikke var det store på det tidspunktet jeg kjøpte garnet. Garn: Dale Bambino ull. Pinner 2.5mm.
Found this lovely pattern at Ravelry and just had to knit them. Due to limited colors in the shop at the time I bought the yarn, I`d to change the colors. Yarn: Dale Bambino Ull. Needles: 2.5mm.

Tova votter/felted mittens

Vottene ble strikket i romjula men ikke tova før nå i vår. Garn og mønster fikk jeg i hemmelig venn julegave.
Mittens were knitted at Christmas but not felted till this spring. Yarn and pattern were a Christmas gift from a Secret pal in Norway.

Knit like a Latvian swap - Ravelry

I dag fikk jeg pakken fra chicagomum. Kjempefint mønster med deilig garn som jeg ikke har prøvd før. Det er 100% ull. Gleder meg til å strikke disse.
Today I got my swap packet from chicagomum, lovely mittens pattern and 100% wool yarn. Can`t wait to make those mittens.

SP12 Questionnaire

1. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? What fibers do you absolutely *not* like? I love wool, superwash, alpaca. Would love to try new fibres. Don`t like acrylic.

2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in? bag for circular needles and needle holder I got in a swap

3. How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced? I`ve been Knitting since mid 70`s. I`m an intermediate.

4. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list? Not right now, but I plan to make an amazone one.

5. What's your favorite scent? Many fave ones like vanilla, meloncucumber, cinnamon, coffee.... Most is good, but I can`t stand apple and rose scents. They make me sick.

6. Do you have a sweet tooth? Favorite candy? Love to try new sweets, all kinds. Fave is M&M`s (don`t sell it in Norway). I love chocolate wtih nuts and raisins. Dove with blueberry is yummi. Can`t buy it here.

7. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do? Do you spin? I make cards, beads, rubber-stamping. I can`t spin, but I have a hand-spindle.

8. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD) Country, musicals, pop, some rock, gospel, latino, italian, celtic. I think my computer/player can play MP3s. Not much into it, but I love music.

9. What's your favorite color(s)? Any colors you just can't stand? Burgundy, red, blue, brown, turquose, most colors but not neon and yellow

10. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets? Married, two girls age 13 and 26. One cat and a pet rabbit

11. Do you wear scarves, hats, mittens or ponchos? Yes, but not ponchos

12. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit? Scarves, pulsewarmers, hats, cloths, calorimetery, socks, mittens. In the 80`s ands early 90`s I knit mostly swatehers, but now I prefer smaller and faster items.

13. What are you knitting right now? socks, latvian mittens

14. Do you like to receive handmade gifts? yes, but not bottlebags as I don`t drink alcohol

15. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Bamboo, aluminum, plastic? Both. Straight 20cm and circular 30 and 40cm. Prefer bamboo.

16. Do you own a yarn winder and/or swift? No

17. How old is your oldest UFO? About a year. Found some very old sweather UFOs in the attic lately, but they will never be finished. Will re-use the yarn.

18. What is your favorite holiday? Christmas

19. Is there anything that you collect? teabags, books, stickers, rubber-stamps, thimbles, knitting patterns,

20. Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on? What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have? Would love to have Sensational socks and more sensational socks books, Latvian and Estonian mittens pattern books. I love to try new yarn and patterns. No knitting magazine subscriptions yet, but I buy a knitting magazine now and then, but the selection is small here.

21. Are there any new techniques you'd like to learn? Toe-up socks

Mai sokkene - Basketcase socks

Mai sokkene i sokker 2008 på Hobbyboden var Basketcase socks som ble strikket til mannen. Likte mønsteret veldig godt.

Secret pal 12

Nytt monkey par/another pair of monkey socks

Likte så godt å strikke monkey sokker at det ble et nytt par av de like etter det første, men jeg har ikke fått lagt inn bilde før nå. Garn: Opal.
Loved this pattern so I decided to make another pair straight after the first ones, but I`ve been too busy blogging much this month. Yarn: Opal.

Sengesokker/bedsocks

Sengesokker etter mønster fra boka Strikk - en reise til indre ro. Garn: Misti 100% alpakka. Kjempedeilig garn. Mangler fortsatt silkeband til sokkene.

Three-Tone Climbing Mitts

Jeg fant denne oppskriften på nett og likte både fargene og mønsteret. De var enkle og raske å strikke.
I found this pattern online and loved the color and pattern. Fast and easy to knit.

Vår datter kom med dette hjertesukket nå nettopp, og selvfølgelig måtte jeg ut og ta bilder av vår hvite 16. mai. Det er bare å hyre seg med vinterklær i morgen. Det er meldt 2 C og kuling. Forhåpentligvis er snøen på veiene borte til i morgen.

Our daughter asked me this question right now. It`s May 16 and it`s snowing and blowing outside. Tomorrow is the Constitution Day and there will be parades all over the country. Weather forecast says pluss 2 C and strong wind.

Monkey socks - Bonussokker april - sokker 2008

Her er mitt første par av Monkey socks, men ikke det siste. Likte veldig godt å strikke mønsteret og fort gikk det. Garn: Austerman step. Kjempefint garn å stikke med. Fikk det i en swap fra Tyskland.

BFF socks - April sokker 2008

Mitt bidrag til April sokkene som var valgfrie flette sokker er disse BFF sokkene av Cookie A. Strikket første sokk i fjor så det var godt å få en grunn til å gjøre ferdig andre sokk også. Garnet er Knit Picks essential som jeg fikk i en swap pakke i lag med mønsteret.
My contribution to the April sock in the Hobbyboden knitalong Socks 2008 is BFF Socks by Cookie A which I`d in a swap packet last year together with Knit Picks essential yarn. I did one sock right away and last week I knit the second sock. I`m very pleased with the socks which were my first cable socks.

Vognteppe/baby blanket

Ferdige UFO`er - finished UFO`s

Har hatt en uke hvor jeg har tatt fatt på UFO`er som har ligget her i ca ett år. Kjempegodt å få gjort de ferdige. Spesielt disse tre parene som kun hadde litt igjen før de var ferdige. Great to have some sock UFO`s done , especially those three pairs which were nearly done.

HV Hobbyforum

Denne fantastiske pakken fikk jeg fra Glastrikk i dag. Et drops hefte jeg ikke har fra før med masse flott i, så det skal bli flitting brukt, Fabel garn i nydelig grønn farge som jeg ikke har sett før, påskepynt, gule telys, kakao og påske snop. Ble kjempefornøyd, så tusen, tusen takk til min hemmelige venn.

Mars sokkene- Circle socks

Her er mitt mars bidrag til sokker 2008. Kjempe flotte sokker som jeg likte veldig godt å strikke. Blir nok å strikke flere av disse. Garn: Online 4-tråders. Disse ble en del av bursdagsgaven til vår eldste som fylte 26 år den 10. mars.

Sokker etter mønster fra Dalarna, Sverige. Funnet i boka Knitting on the road av Nancy Bush. Mønsteret på sidene kommer bedre fram når sokkene er på foten. Første gnag jeg har prøvd toenders strikking.

Vintage Heart swap

My partner Michelle in USA sent me this lovley packet in the Vintage Heart swap I joined. A wonderful basket filled with two small heart table cloths, a cute towel, cards, buttons, bags, baking cups, hesrt shaped cake cutters (don`t know if this is the correct word for it), paper cutter and an old fashion heart. Thanks a lot Michelle, I was thrilled to receive such a wonderful packet. It has been great exchanging e-mails with you as this wasn`t a secret swap. Hope we can stay in touch.

Sock it to me twice swap - packet two

My second swap it to me twice packet was waiting for me last night when I came home from a 13 hrs job trip. Like the first packet also this one made me stunned. Look at all my partner Yvonne in Germany sent me. It was like Christmas Eve to wrap up one thing after another. I`d lovely Jaywalkers, 4 skeins of divè cotton/viscose yarn which I`ve never had before, scrapbooking items, ribbons, candles, mocca insence sticks, bath salt, face mask and the cutest little sheep. Thanks a lot from the bottom of my heart to my partner Yvonne. Both packets were a lot more than I expected. I`m moved to tears when seeing a partner put their heart into making such wonderful packets for strangers. You are the best Yvonne. :)

My partner had knitted lovely Jaywalkers for me. The color is just gorgeous and fitted me perfectly well. :)

Sock it to me twice swap - packet one

About a week or so ago I got the first packet from my swap partner in Germany. I was stunned from all she sent me, two skeins of lovely yarn, some homespun (I think) and some from Austerman Step with Aloe Vera and Jojoba oil, which I`ve never had before. I also got Wintermärchen tea, which is new to me but smells wonderful and I`m sure it taste great too (will have one or more cup(s) tonight), Hachez chocolate which I`ve either never tasted, knitting needles, lovely stitch markers, stempelset (I collect rubberstamps),three soap bars which smells lovely. Thanks a lot for all what you sent me. Loved it all.

Lake Park Hat - Luealong 2008

Lake Park Hat er mitt februar bidrag til luealongen i Hobbyboden. Strikket i Silja garn med Viking sportsragg som pyntegarn. Lua ble myk og god men alt for liten for ho som skulle ha den, så det blir nok en julegave.

Et par Thuja sokker til

Strikket et par Thuja sokker til da de var raske å strikke og jeg har dårlig tid for tiden. Disse skal gå til en hemmelig venn. Strikket i Online 6-tråds garn som jeg har fått i en hemmelig venn gave.
